slogging on

Slogging on with my explorations of the human figure... these are all 15-25 min sketches from refs gleaned from the internet. I'm deeply thankful to the various photo-artists whose work I've referenced, for advancing my education. I'm afraid I'm still looking for the sources, since these were randomly sketched from the screen, so as to give them credit. Any help in that respect would be sincerely appreciated. More on my use of reference for educational purpose...

Done on A3 size paper using variety of dry/watersoluble media.

Another old one

Flotsam and Jetsam - Digitally painted in 2009.

Please disregard the date stamp which mistakenly says 2013... ugh! (except in the last one, where the date is correct) I felt like sharing it in FigureStack. The blog didn't exist at that time, when I first posted it in my website (Digital galleries: here and here).

Perhaps I'll re-paint this in traditional media one day. No references were used.

A few close ups...

Posting an Old preliminary sketch

This is an old painting from 2011, which I thought I'd include in this blog. Its really a preliminary sketch for a planned final version on some future date :/

 I call it 'Vision' - 21" x 15", acrylic on canvas paper.

Study of expression

Studying subtleties of expression in acrylic: 11" x 13.5", acrylic on paper.

Mr Moon's Girlfriend - final version

Finally, I got down to complete this painting, which was laying about for quite a while. I regret the pic quality, doesn't capture the finer tints of teal on blue, despite my various attempts. But the close up has better color reproduction, hopefully. I'm also including the previous/trial works, leading up to this painting.
